Terms & Conditions
Last updated: November 2026
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to the use of our website and to every order for equipment, accessories, repair or calibration services (“Goods” and “Services”) placed with Class Instrumentation Ltd, whether through this website, by email or by phone. Please read them before placing an order. By placing an order you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
Class Instrumentation Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 03252796). Our registered office is 837 Garratt Lane, London, SW17 0PG, United Kingdom. You can contact us at info@classltd.com or on 020 8333 2288.
2. Business and consumer customers
Our equipment is designed for professional and industrial use, and these Terms are written mainly for business customers. If you are buying as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business or profession), you have legal rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights. Where a clause applies differently to consumers, we say so.
3. Orders
- Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is only formed when we confirm that we have accepted your order, by email or by dispatching the Goods.
- We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is out of stock, if there is an obvious pricing error, or if supplying the Goods would breach export control or sanctions rules. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full.
- Product images and descriptions are for guidance. We may make minor changes to specifications that do not affect performance.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) unless stated otherwise. Prices shown exclude VAT and delivery unless stated otherwise; these are added at checkout or shown on your quote.
- For deliveries outside the UK, you are responsible for any import duties, local taxes and customs or courier handling charges in the destination country.
- Website payments are processed securely by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card details.
- We will not dispatch Goods, or release calibration certificates, until we have received payment in full in cleared funds, unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing.
5. Delivery, export and customs
- We deliver worldwide using international carriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS. Delivery dates are estimates; we will do our best to meet them but are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs inspections or other events outside our control.
- For international deliveries, you are the importer of record and are responsible for complying with the import rules of the destination country and for paying any duties and charges.
- Some of our Goods may be subject to UK export controls or sanctions. You agree not to export, re-export or transfer the Goods in breach of any applicable export control or sanctions laws, and to give us any end-use information we reasonably need to comply with these laws.
6. Risk and ownership
- Business customers: risk of loss or damage passes to you when the Goods leave our premises or are handed to your carrier or ours.
- Consumers: risk passes to you when the Goods are delivered to you or to someone you have nominated.
- Ownership of the Goods passes to you only once we have received payment in full.
7. Warranty
- Our main electronic products carry a three-year warranty, and accessories (such as cables, probes and power units) carry a one-year warranty, both from the date of dispatch.
- The warranty covers defects in materials, components and workmanship under normal use. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, fluid ingress, use in unsuitable conditions, normal wear and tear, or repairs or modifications by anyone other than us or our authorised agents.
- To make a warranty claim, please follow the process in our Returns & Calibration Policy. If a claim is accepted, we will repair or replace the Goods at our choice and pay to return them to you.
- For consumers, this warranty is in addition to your legal rights.
8. Cancellations and returns
Details of cancellations, returns and calibration services are set out in our Returns & Calibration Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Our liability
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
- Business customers: we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability under or in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for the Goods or Services in that order.
- Consumers: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses.
10. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for any delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as carrier or customs disruption, strikes, extreme weather, or changes to export rules. If this happens, we will let you know and do what we reasonably can to minimise the delay.
11. Use of our website
The content of this website, including text, images and product information, belongs to Class Instrumentation Ltd or our licensors. You may view and print it for your own use but may not copy or reuse it for commercial purposes without our permission. We aim to keep the website accurate and available but cannot guarantee that it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
12. Your personal data
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These Terms and any contract between us are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order will apply to that order.
