The ingress of water through hatch covers is one of the main causes of damage to cargo.

Cargo-Safe provides a quick and safe method of establishing weather tightness of hatch covers, bow, stern and side doors.

Tests can be carried out with the cargo in place and do not interfere with other crew activities. Unlike hose testing, ultrasonic testing causes no damage to cargo and can be conducted in sub-zero temperatures.

Why choose Cargo-Safe?

The effectiveness of a hatch cover tester is determined by the amount of sound energy that reaches the hatch cover. This is determined by the primary dispersion pattern (red) and the first reflection pattern (blue). Cargo-Safe has two levels of emitters (upper and lower) as well as one vertical emitter. This means that all the ultrasound is directed to the hatch cover.
